Assange's case seems to involve not using a condom as opposed to outright non-consensual sex

Compare that case to the poor woman who's ex was given bail despite being charged with several counts of rape against her and despite her expressed concerns for her safety. He didn't fee the country.... he just ambushed her and stabbed her to death in an absolute frenzy.

In another topic about Assanges it has been said that the judge stated that jail was the option due to personal safety ?

 

Also in that topic attention was drawn to our one sided extradition treaty with the US, so maybe its a case that the judge saw thought he be safer in Sweden where it be harder for extradition to the US and jail so he isn't snatched off our streets by the CIA or someone and the mess that would make ?

 

The case against Dewani is interesting also, the evidence the S Africans were saying they wanted to talk to him about prior to him getting bail is said to include footage of him handing a bag of money to the cabby. Now its for their court to decide what is what in respect to that evidence but the fact that they had it before he was bailed makes his granting of bail look mad. I imagine we would also be spitting our dummy out if this was the other way round.
