Stormy
EDL spokesmen are on record for saying gays should be killed. Well maybe they should move to Iran then, they'd feel right at home there where gays are killed. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article2859606.ece http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Execution_of_two_gay_teens_in_Iran_spurs_controversy
spindrift
Watch how the Rabbi initially denies that the Bible commands the death penalty then is forced to admit the commands exist, then finally admits that it is God’s will to execute apostates…And watch how his EDL minders get increasingly nervous and try to bundle him away! http://bloggingtheology.wordpress.com/2010/10/27/edl-speaker-says-it-is-gods-will-to-kill-apostates-and-homosexuals/
evildrneil
Yes he should he has the right to express his views against the extremeist scum I think most balanced opinions would put him in the camp of "extremeist scum" (sic)
Wildcat
Just like the ultra left wing students in London t`other day. The student protest was in opposition to a Bill going through Parliament, a political protest of relevance that needs protecting to ensure our democracy. The last time EDL went through Luton they recruited a bunch of football hooligans and the various football firms declared a armistice for the day so they could better coordinate the smashing of shop windows, trashing cars and assaults on local shopkeepers. I watched a program about how the police ur policed an EDL march. There were a significantly higher number of arrests of people from the UAF group. Not sure of the percentages but I thought that was interesting. Why do they all behave like maniacs as soon as they pick up a placard?
Wildcat
Terry Jones does not say that non-belivers should be killed. The situation is different. Maybe starving him of the oxygen of publicity is the way forward, but the Home Secretary banning him is not the way to do it. We have banned plenty of muslim clerics that don't think non-blievers should be killed too. The EDL and those calling for this hate preacher to be allowed here are talking double standards. Either we act against extremism in Islam and from Islamaphobes or we do neither. Applying double standards is the worst of all the options. Apart from being misquoted and perhaps being a bit of an arse, what has Zakir Naik said that justified his refusal of entry to the Uk? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zakir_Naik At least he doesn't preach hatred against a whole religion like Terry Jones does.
