tiamariaspud
Are you a Care Worker and what are your rates of pay for Xmas day, my husband has just received a text for the company he works for saying his will be time and a half!
Kashul
Yep, time and a half is generally right unless your working a night then it should be double time. Hope that helps
HarmOKnee
My sister's a care worker & it's the same for her and they won't even pay for a taxi for her to get to work, so she refuses point blank.
zippy
It is a contractural matter what if any additional allowances someone gets for working on weekends, nights and/or public holidays, ditto for any specific transport arrangements. For NHS staff only 2 of the the 25, 26, 27 and 28th will be paid as bank holidays - the Sunday is paid as a standard Sunday ( which for most AFC staff is the same rate as public holidays) but for those working all four days the 28th, despite being a bank holiday, will be paid at regular weekday rates. strewf
I am a care worker and we get paid bare time plus a day in lieu. Have to work it if we are rota'd. Not allowed to take annual leave over Christmas.
willman
Double pay, days in lieu are at the discretion of the employer IIRC. There are moves a foot in some service industries to completely remove bank holiday pay according to the news earlier this week.
