Middlewood searchlights 1950s?

As a boy in the 1950s I remember seeing searchlights somewhere on Middlewood Rd. Am I right in thinking there was some kind of army camp or territorial camp there?

At night time in bed you could see them lighting the sky for miles.

There was a territorial Unit on Middlewood Rd, just past

the Catchbar Lane junction. That was probably where the

searchlights were.
