Keith Rich
Many years ago we had whipping boys. These were boys who were punished for the things that the privileged did wrong, because obviously the privileged are too powerful to be allowed to be punished. We now have a similar thing today. The bankers do things wrong and the rest of us get punished for it, while bankers get away Scott free. What can be done?

Keith Rich
Proves the wit of a banker, doesn't it? Not really. If anything it shows that governments will let them get away with it.

hard2miss
Not really. If anything it shows that governments will let them get away with it.The Government rely on the Banking system to run or the country goes to pot, all that this crisis has done is highlight the power the Banks have over us and how weak our Governments really are. xenia
Bankers should be hanging from lamposts as an example to the others. However, they made their millions and ruined the country under a LABOUR government (Yes A LABOUR government). Brown and Blair stood back and watched them rape and pillage and appeared at thier bunfights and presentations as honored guests. What can be Done? Never, ever, ever, vote labour again. 1951, 1970, 1979, 2010, more or less the years that Labour came out of power. What have these dates in common? The country was in serious economic trouble. LABOURs new motto. Vote for us WE ALWAYS LEAVE YOU SKINT Many years ago we had whipping boys. LABOURs new motto. Vote for us WE ALWAYS LEAVE YOU SKINT I am not a Labour supporter, and I believe they have a lot to answer for (mainly for becoming 'Tories Light' and bending over for the big players who make the real decisions like Rupert Murdoch and the financial sector 'Masters of the Universe'). However, it is becoming boring having to point out, again and again, that the policies of the last Labour Government were not the cause of the Global crisis which has resulted in our present financial predicament (which is a lot less severe than it is in many other developed countries). While there are so many gullible people who are prepared to believe the lies they get spoon fed because they fit in with their shallow and lazy view points (why think about things yourself when you can get politicians and media stooges to do it for you?) we will continue to get one appalling government after another, whether they be Labour, Tory or coalition.
