Bilge
You'll know the station bar I guess? Are there two different ones at the station or have I imagined that? This one looks nice: http://www.aswiftone.com/2009/03/star-inn-huddersfield.html Some more are linked on that page bottom left.

rosaespanola
The pub at the station is a good one to start with.
HJL_Shef
I've been to The Rat and Ratchet and The Grove, and they're both great. The Grove had something like 14 hand pumps on; you could easily stay there all night.
Meaks
Huddersfield is excellent for a real ale day. The Grove, Rat and Ratchet, The Sportsman, Head of Steam, Kings Head, The Star, The Vulcan... Plus a Wetherspoons of course. Sharp87
the wetherspoons in huddersfield is actually excellent for real ale, one of the best i've been to. i don't really like the grove. my favourite is probably the kings head.
