CNCskilled
Cold weather makes the oil thicker than normal. If you go for a longer drive the oil light should go out as the oil temp increases. Used to have the same problem with an older car I once owned and the Oil warning light always flashed when temperatures were below freezing. shanes teeth
Advising someone with an oil pressure problem to go for a "longer drive" seems to me to be a slightly risky strategy!

orbs
forgot to say its a citreon. would it help if i changed the oil? had the car 4 month, and only changed the back wiper in that time, but kept checking both oil and water
vwkittie
Buggered pump, clogged up filter? When did it last have a service? Did the light come on at low revs, when turning or breaking or just randomly? I would not continue to drive a car that has potentially low oil pressure if I were you! steveh
As above do not use it. It might be nothing but if it is low oil pressure then using it will kill it. If the oil came on after you'd been using it and it was hot how did you check the oil level? This can only be done properly on a flat surface with the oil cold. We're not talking about painting on this thread Mr Teeth ... thank you very much! In fact, I'm not talking about painting at all ... full stop! Apart from that, things are fine!
