unuspromulti
what do you actually think they can do if the pipes are frozen under the house? I'm not a plumber but if I had a problem I'd certainly ask for the opinion of one.

sedith
the central heating needs to be kept on 24/7 in this weather, turn it off and you run the risk of frozen pipes.
Nagel
We've left our heating on 24 hours a day since the cold snap started. Last year we had a frozen pipe in the attic and the whole back of the house flooded. It's definitely worth paying the extra heating bill to avoid that happening. The advice from Yorkshire Water is to keep your heating on 24/7 on probably a lower setting than normal. If you are on benefits you will have had a cold weather payment anyway.
