harvey19
No. But then again, they don't have grounds for criticising my performance at work either. How do you want Mr Cable to spend his time? I wouldn't tell Mr. Cable how to spend his time the same as I wouldn't tell you or anyone else.
harvey19
"Do people criticise you for having a life outside of work ?" Er.....I'm retired actually. Just finished 45 years of work. And when I was working it was the main focus in my life. I am sure his work is the main focus of his life and am also sure he will put in plenty of hours per week. Do you really begrudge him having a life outside of politics ?

They get criticized for being too remote, living in their ivory towers, out of touch with the common people, then they do something popularist and fun and they get slagged off for not being a serious politico. Max the Cat
Well if Paul Scriven can make fool of himself singing 'Perfect Day' in a bad promo for the Mercure hotel I don't see why Cable can't do that. Is he being paid for it or is it a charity thing?
