grandadowl Posted December 23, 2010 Share Posted December 23, 2010 does anyone remember the fishing ponds at ford bottom. not the one,s at the bridge inn but the ones on the right hand side going up the hill towards marsh lane ??. there were 3 or 4 dams and we as kids used used to fish them, they were known locally as the scalper dams and im sure the one at the bottom was owned by davy united. Could pay at the farm to fish davy,s but i think the others were private ( not that it stopped us anyway ).Would love to know if they are still there.
