spooky3
... P.P.S. As to whether using the word opinion in a mathematical situation sounds like a lame cop off to me... ... Funny you should link to that because as you were watching the Big Bang I was actually doing it........fact. A lame cop off?
Obelix
A fact is something that has the capability to be falsifiable and is testable and is objective. That makes them different from opinions which may not be testable, are subjected and are derived from facts.

six45ive
I'm not hunting them down, i'll let you do that, but studies in arousal and fame have shown certain characteristics are more attractive than others. e.g. symmetrical faces, eye shape, fuller lips, etc. I understand that which, I assume, is why the person making the statement gave the example of Beyonce and Angelina Jolie as opposed to Anjelina Jolie and Anne Widdecome for example. Basically you can make anything fact or opinion! Not at all. If you believe that then how do you seperate fact from fiction. How can you make well informed decisions in life if you can't destinguish between the two? I can't remember which philosopher said it (maybe Derrida), but it was, but I can't find the exact statement, but it basically every statement carries the information to disprove itself, or something like that (It's been at least 10 years since needing or reading it!). Derrida Deconstruction Who has been discredited many times for not only being delusional but also for having a king size chip on his shoulder. Many things have stood as fact for centuries only to be disproved. ... Who has been discredited many times for not only being delusional but also for having a king size chip on his shoulder. I sort of agree, I remember saying once that I wish i'd never read any of his work, Nietzsche too... What I think i'm trying to say is, any opinion can be put as a statement of fact, whilst also any statement of fact could be described as an opinion. spooky3
I also used to argue that everything can be classed as an art.
