spooky3
Do people not remember when there were crowds in town worse than Meadowhell. Places like the Moor you used to have to go with the flow or walk in the gutter. There was always a huge crowd waiting to cross High Street at the top of Snig Hill/Angel Street with police having to hold them back whilst a bobby in a long White coat waved on the traffic. Have a speed down Six Mile Bottom for me please... (It's not that far from Bury St Edmunds is it?)

I used to live in Great Wibraham, great road! They put in central bollards and islands to slow traffic down as you come to the crossroads. Usual Anti speeding stuff. It was probably needed especially as traffic coming north had just come off the M11
Ms Macbeth
Another woman here who hates the place. I go about once or twice a year, and only if I can't get what I need from town. I cannot believe that anyone could possibly enjoy shopping, yet we keep hearing it's the nation's favourite leisure activity. I loathe it so much that I have to reward myself after a certain number of shops visited/items purchased. Depending on the time of day, this is usually a coffee, lunch or glass of wine somewhere nice. Or just a sit down with a newspaper. All these distractions are easier in town and at least you can breathe fresh air between shops. So Meadowhell it is. I agree with you about the place, I think I visited twice this year. However, I don't hate shopping outdoors and actually quite enjoy a browse in town, especially when the weather's decent. I just don't understand parents who think Meadowhall is a good place to take small children for hours on end. Whats the attraction?
foxydebs
But Mr Meadowhall himself will be laughing all the way to the bank the place only shut one day for xmas maybe he should be renamed Mr Scrooge!!! Then there is the opposite extreme of people who complain because it is shut on easter sunday.

Scutts
Nothing wrong with Meadowhall, myself and my fiancee go there weekly. Last week we went Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday just to get a few bits, have some breakfast and generally browse. We were getting there at about 9 and not leaving till about 12, no problems with parking, no queues for breakfast or in the shops.....nice. I can't see why people have such a downer on the place:roll:
Grandad.Malky
I can't see why people have such a downer on the place:roll: Because "Meadowhell" was a buzz word like “ am I bothered” and some people still think its trendy to use it. LaughingCow
A place to shop without pigeons flying in front of my face and tramps asking for money! Although I don't go when it's busy, it's just too stressful. Generally we go in the weekday evenings when we have to go, but not in the weeks either side of Christmas...
