Bizarre goings on with a leak??

Ok so have come back from holiday today and found water on my kitchen work surface which has been soaked up by papers so no actual water on the surface and evidence that the hob has had water on it too. Look in the cupboard above the worktop and its wet inside and the wood has water damage.

No leaks coming through the wall and nothing from the ceiling. Just cannot find a source at all so have just had to leave it and hope it has stopped. It seemed isolated to this area but have just opened the microwave which is round the corner and it is full off water?!!!!! The cupboard above has no water in it nor the surface around the microwave plus there were papers on top of the microwave which are dry!

What the hell is going on??

Any ideas?

Explanation -- You left a key with someone to keep a check on the house and when in they made themselves a cuppa but in doing so spilled a bit on the work top , they then had a look around to make sure everything was ok but by this time the tea had gone cold so they warmed it up in the microwave again spilling a bit , they then washed the mug out and forgetting to dry it properly put it back in the cupboard leaving a puddle of water . Easy eh!

Either that or thas got a Ghost lol.
