scooby_s Posted January 3, 2011 Share Posted January 3, 2011 I have started suffering by not being able to maintain an erection, which means sex is not happening. Whilst I will go to my GP, I was wondering if anybody knew anybody that could help along the alternative medicine route mentioned in the title? You see, I am 33 and am almost able to perform and am worried that my GP will just prescribe viagra. This may be like using a sledgehammer to break a nut. People I have spoken to about viagra comment on having a frightening pounding heart and painful erection that just won't go down. Any help appreciated, thanks. Evei Posted January 3, 2011 Share Posted January 3, 2011 It can also be a sign of other health implications so I would go to the doctors and get a proper diagnosis. Personally I would not touch chinese medicine as it is generally not scientifically tested, that does not mean it does not work but that the long/ short term side effects are unknown. retired Posted January 3, 2011 Share Posted January 3, 2011 I knew a bloke in his thirties who took Viagra and the 'effect' lasted 13 hours! It can be worse for young men who take it for a laugh or to 'maintain'. It can cause agonising pain to the point they need to go to A+E. I should think it is the older men that need it. But just saying that would be to neglect that western pills are hardly safe either. I know people who work at pharmaceuticals trying to get dangerous drugs approved. I knew someone with erectile dysfunction who only took like a quarter of a pill and similar kind of story. I think they should make the drug in tiny doses. Flowersfade - what other solutions can a western doc prescribe for erectile dysfunction apart from counselling? Because you think that some western drugs aren't safe is hardly a sensible reason for deciding to try something else which is/could be even more dangerous! Your first port of call must be the doctors - to find out if there's an underlying cause for your problem - before you even start considering treatment. There's some useful info about causes here.
