The incentive is huge as this year we are offering brilliant prizes for the 2 winners- the critics choice and the audience vote. Prizes include a support slot with a touring band, a Jack Daniels branded guitar, JD merch and much much more soon to be confirmed! ************************ HOW TO ENTER It's really easy to enter - simply grab yourself an application form from the Welcome Desk at the Union, fill it in and return it to the Welcome Desk along with a demo (or with a myspace page included) by the deadline of January 27th. Alternatively, application forms are available through here- http://www.shef.ac.uk/union/files/BandComp2011.pdf and completed forms can be emailed to gigs@sheffield.ac.uk. COMPETITION DATES AND FORMAT There will be 3 heats in the Raynor Lounge with 4 bands appearing on each of the following dates: February 17th, February 24th and March 10th 2011. 5 bands will qualify from the heats for the final in Foundry. These will be made up of the 3 winners and runner up as voted by the audience and also a critics choice winner selected by an expert panel of judges. The final will take place on March 31st 2011 where 2 out of 5 bands will win the top prizes - 1 voted for by the audience, and 1 by the expert panel of judges. (i.e the critics.). RULES All the rules and conditions of the competition are outlined on the application form. Please read these carefully before entering. *********************** So what are you waiting for?
