Englands easy way to recovery.

Recommended Posts

England has become "stale" after many many generations of established wealth. The families with long established wealth like it that way, they will merely pass the wealth onto the next generation who will use the wealth to become comparitively even richer. These families will continue to enjoy recessions and the extra fruits that they bring.

I have a very simple solution that will create true equality and real prosperity for all in England. It is amazingly simple and will solve Englands evils almost overnight. BAN INHERITANCE. When someone dies their estate is left to the country, for the good of the country.

Poverty would disappear very quickly as would the national debt. People would be truly born equal with equal chance of making their lives a sucess. England would not only be fair, but would be seen to be fair. People would spend more as they cannot take it with them, this would stimulate the economy.

What in all honesty could be a fairer step for a government to take?

It is not a communist plan as the money from estates would not be shared equally amongst everybody, it would be used to fight poverty and crime, both of which would be quickly greatly reduced. There are no flaws either. It is a perfect plan.

Seizing the assets of an individual for the state isn't a communist plan?

Why are there no flaws? Also if its so perfect why hasn't it been done or even pubilcly talked about before by the powers that be?

Taxation is the seizing of assets?

It is not regarded as communist though?

It is not talked about because the ruling classes keep it way off the agenda.

You are having a laugh!

If everyone started on the same day with exactly the same amount of money, some would use it to make more by being entrepreneurs. Some would live frugally and save. Some would spend everything, and some would borrow from others to live at a level they couldn't afford.

We aren't all the same, and whilst I (and most people) agree with inheritance tax on the very rich, I don't think your idea would get much support from the majority of people who've worked hard and want to give future generations of their family any help they can.

I remember 40+ years ago the same claptrap being spouted by an older guy I worked with. He said he thought all money should have a 'use by' date so people couldn't save longterm. He was quite fond of spending his in the pub. ;)

So, now you're being selective in the areas that 'inheritance' income would be used for without a general vote.

You want to instill a 'spending ethic' amongst people, but an inheritance ban would also include assets. That means you can't pass property or possessions to your children either. That's the family heirlooms, your treasured car etc.

You want to spend our money preventing crime? Why not go further and just bring in tougher penalties on criminals?

Why not fight poverty by forcing people to work for their incomes?

You're treading on thin ice here......

Taxation is not the seizing of assets. Taxation is different to what you are talking about, you are saying that as soon as someone dies their chattels and worldly goods are seized by the state that is not the same as a tax.

You've still not seen the major flaw in the plan yet have you?

The idea WOULD work. After a few years the general populus would be wondering why it had never been done before. The only loses would be the ruling classes who control most of the wealth and also control us. I certainly would not feel sorry for them. Let their scroates go out and get a job!
