spindrift
32 months is way too short a sentence. A message needs to be sent to these Far-left thugs that their anti-social, potentially murderous activities will no longer be tolerated. He should have got ten years maximum security. Then we would see what the pampered middle-class freak is truly made of. What would you have given this thug: At some point after the dinner, the group walked through Oxford when one (thought to be Fergusson, though exact recollections differ) threw a plant pot through the window of a restaurant. The burglar alarm was activated and police descended with sniffer dogs. Six of the group were collared and spent the night at Cowley police station before being released without charge. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/camerons-cronies-the-bullingdon-clubs-class-of-87-436192.html
INTERVIEWER
What would you have given this thug: The Bullingdon Club would have been outlawed, and any members engaged in anti-social activity expelled from Oxford. These upper-class snobs would soon behave if they thought that Daddies allowance would be cut off...

INTERVIEWER
So you wouldn't have given the plant pot lobber ten years? I don't think that a plant pot through a restaurant window (at ground level) amounts to the same potential amount of injury as a fire extuinguisher thrown from the roof of a tall building... spindrift
I would suggest getting smashed over the noggin by a plant pot would leave you with a speech impediment at least.
INTERVIEWER
I would suggest getting smashed over the noggin by a plant pot would leave you with a speech impediment at least. True. A heavy plant pot could do some serious damage. Then there is the flying glass shards from the broken window...

nouxnoux
He definitely deserves the sentence. Should have put his brain in gear (being a clever student) before he threw the extinguisher. The fact that he threw it amongst the police tells you he meant to injure someone. So he should be punished. Maybe other students will think twice about violence and if they want to demonstrate they will do so peacefully.
melthebell
after a "moment of madness" i dont think a custody sentence is the right decision, hes got a decent family around him and i believe he was sickened when he found out he couldve killed somebody. I think hes prolly learnt his lesson and as the judicial systems always banging on about not having enough places personally id rather see him get tagged and community service rather than locked up, shouldve saved his bed for an even worse criminal.
