Recommended Posts

would you go and stand in the freezing cold and wash cars for £6 an hour when you can be better off on benefit and stay at home watching jeremy karl and go on stupid internet forums:huh:

I did when I was a lot younger!

So, are you saying we should always make sure we have a lot of illegal immigrants who can be used and abused, live illegally and contravening human rights? Because as soon as you make illegals legal then they are in the other category your describing!

You grow all your own fruit and veg? Impressive.

I'm not blaming anyone, I'm saying we all, apart from you obviously, benefit from having a migrant workforce doing the jobs the indigenous refuse.

We have an army of cleaners, veg pickers, catering staff and care staff who work, contribute and help support the country.

Think about it, they had the courage and determination to leave the country of birth to seek a better life- that's why immigrants are often highly motivated and successful. the richest man in Britain is an immigrant.

All what you say is true and good. This is about illegals.

It was their choice to come here? their choice of career? as long as they are not claiming anything whats the big deal! they discard human rights once they left their own country,

Mayor Boris Johnson says illegal immigrants are a “huge issue” in London, and wants the Government to consider offering some undocumented workers amnesty to stay in the country.

In 2007, the city had some 518,000 illegal immigrants or 6.9% of the 7.5 million population, the mayor said in an e-mailed press statement this earlier month, quoting new research from the London School of Economics (LSE).

The study also shows that there were about 725,000 foreigners in the UK illegally, an increase of 295,000 since 2001.

“This is a huge issue for the capital,” said Johnson, a former Member of Parliament who was elected as London Mayor May 2008.

“London is disproportionately affected, with more irregular migrants than anywhere else in the U.K.

The ippr report also concluded that legalising those migrants and bringing them into the tax system would add billions in tax benefits to the UK economy.

And what percentage of those would go straight on to benefits? The underpaid and illegal jobs they were doing would no longer be viable or available, so they would be jobless and in the same boat as everybody else. Why would they do menial jobs for not much pay when they could claim benefits and watch JK? They are no different from the of us.

P.S. That IPPR was produced before the new Government came in, but I can't find anything newer on their site.

So you still think they can afford to charge you £5 a wash when they have to pay minimum wage, declare earnings and pay all the bills,

it will be like £10 a go and no one will use it and we end up havnt dirty car all over the place

If you can't pay clean your own car. This country should not be dragged down. It's supposed to move foreword and up.

Kick them out, kick them all out. We have plenty who need work here weather they want it or not. We got rid of slaves hundreds of years ago. Way are we allowing illegals to pull us back to that?

What a load of twaddle, do tell us what care staff are working illegaly.

The indigenous do the jobs for the basic wage, the illegals work long hours for below the basic wage this has been proven time and time again and if you don't believe that then you're living in Never Never Land .

None of the products/produce from this illegal work is any cheaper it's just providing bigger profit margins.
