nietzsche
I've been wondering, if I have fat on my belly, but work out my arms, will it affect my belly? How does it work?
jacko72
You need a full body routine and change of diet, swop some carbs for proteins etc etc, the belly will slowly go if your calorie intake is slightly lower than what you need. Do some crunchies etc etc as your abs firm up it will give you the illusion of loosing fat quicker as your belly becomes firmer and more in shape. Any exercise is better than none
foxforcefive
The best way to get rid of excess fat around the belly is to burn it off with cardio and include core work (plank, crunches, reverse crunches, oblique twists), it's unlikely you would lose it by diet alone. jacko72
Diet alone would be slow and painfull, but diet is a key element along with exercise, cardio and resistance

bjshooter
You can't burn off fat from one area, you can tone up one area, but it would be useless hidden under a layer of fat. You need cardio, anything to get you heart rate up. Plus strength training for toning and firming. building the muscle from strength training helps speed up the burning of fat from the cardio. Grandad.Malky
You can't burn off fat from one area, . That’s what I was told in the days when I used to go to a gym, isn’t swimming the alternative for a all over work out.
