It was widely published when it happened and many of the comments made at the time hinted that Jack Straw (the then Home Secretary) had interceded on behalf of his brother to obtain preferential treatment. There was no evidence to suggest that had been that case and eventually the fuss about nothing went away. Why should Jack Straw (who I don't like and don't trust) suffer for something a relative of his did? Why should anybody be punished for the actions of another person?
