Grahame
But that was a Jewish law, Grahame, and a man-made one, at that, according to your own standards. (remember you asserted, quite confidently, that Levitical laws were man-made, and therefore didn't apply.) The Ten Commandments are universal and not all laws were written by the Levite Priests, remember Sodom and Gomorrah and why it is called Sodomy. Plain Talker
The Ten Commandments are universal. no they're not. What is considered perfectly acceptable behaviour in one society (eg eating other human beings, as is/ was practised in Papua New Guinea) is not acceptable in other societies. Grahame
(oh, and BTW, the Levitical law against homosexuality is not in the 10 commandments) I did not say it was in the Ten Commandments. See post 133.
Plain Talker
Some laws have universal acceptance. Agreed. Some. However, not all the biblical laws are universal, nor accepted.
Plain Talker
I did not say it was in the Ten Commandments. See post 133. As I said earlier, the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was their inhospitability to strangers, not the sexual side of it. If it were the sexual side of it, the slave girls/ daughters would not have been offered up to the townspeople. And again.:-it's a Levitical, law, and therefore man-made, and, as such, according to your previous assertions, should be disregarded.
Grahame
Agreed. Some. However, not all the biblical laws are universal, nor accepted. I'm talking about universal laws and homosexuality is one of them including Islam which covers a large part of the world. http://www.missionislam.com/knowledge/homosexuality.htm
Obelix
Some laws have universal acceptance. No they don't. I don't accept them which rather blows your theory out of the water.
