Smelly Herberts - Why are there more of these people around?

Recommended Posts

My BOLD.....

I agree with you on pretty much all of the above, I hate to see a scruffy child and always ensure to make my daughter look ten times better than me, but kids get mucky, it's a fact of life, if a child drops dinner down her front, or splashes in a puddle while your out there's just about nothing you can do about it, there is the option of carrying a suitcase around with you full of their clothes so that everytime they get mucky you could change them but that's not practical is it? Children should be left to be children and part of that is to have fun splashing in puddles and getting mucky....

To add to the thread and your comment though, I hate walking around and seeing kids (Usually babies as well ) in cold weather with insufficient clothing, such as no socks, no coat etc....If I had any powers at all I would immediately take the children from their parents and give them to someone who will love them and not just use them for more benefits....

Yeah, that's true. What I'm trying to get at is those permanently unkept kids. You can generally tell the difference from a kid who's dropped a bit of dinner etc to those kids who look like that all the time (if you know what I mean).

My biggest pet hate though is for example when you see an overweight child in a tight clothes that he/she probably grew out of last year, with their little belly poking out of the bottom of their t-shirt, or kids with their trousers half way up their ankles etc, I think it's heartbreaking because you know they probably get mocked at school, kids are so cruel and think nothing of it and their parents should not be opening their children up to that. :(

Up until about 5 years ago, the problem of smelly herberts appeared to be a thing of the past, people had mastered the art of soap and water, and toothpaste and toothbrush

However in 2011, it seems these are becoming forgotton skills - is it time the council lauched an awareness campain into soap and water?

YOu can buy soap for less than 50p and deodorant can be bought from poundland. PLus you can by cheap clothes from places like Primark. This problem appears to be a real problem on the buses and especially certain bus routes

Why is this problem getting worse, are people losing their self respect?

Tell me about it, they are even hereb at centre parcs! Why can't they stick to Skegness?

Because they mistakenly went to Centre Parcs with the same thought? I mean Centre parcs isn't exactly a cultural Mecca is it? All you can do is swim, maybe that's why most go...to get an expensive wash. :D

I totally agree with your post, If you are lucky enough to be a parent dress your children in the best clothes you can afford not necessary designer but clothes which at least will keep them warm and clean.

and some people, many are usually older women, seem to spend 50 p on bottles of awful scent, then use far too much of it, but I have said this on a previous thread .

I'd prefer the 50p scents to so called "smelly herberts" who smell of stale urine and always seem to sit next to you on the tram/train/bus
