You don't just take a bunch of lads off the street stick a kit on them and go and beat Barca 8-0 at the nou camp do you? So you need to develope their skills before they can go and put them into practice on the pitch. So for people from all sorts of foreign backgrounds who are new here they need some coaching in all sorts of things in order to minimise the ammount of time they will take to integrate. This group provides support for them as a small part of what this church does, is volunteer staffed and is not just a childcare group, it's aimed at the mothers more. The staff are British (and Christian) and the agencies they invite in are British (police, NHS etc) Once they've had their training they'll be in a better position to go out and play for real in British society. brilliant post. melthebell Posted January 19, 2011 Share Posted January 19, 2011 think of it this way if you took your child to a playgroup would there be certain cicumstances where you felt uncomfortable? maybe your the only white face in a wholly black room? would you gravitate to a friendly white face? for protection? for similarities? this is NOT to try and prove any race issues, its purely to try and see it from the foriegners footsteps. is there specific issues they may need extra help with? not being good with the language is an obvious start. help with money? job / benefits? housing? healthcare all which a foreigner may struggle to know about, get help with, so going somewhere where people can point them in the right place is a start then theres other things........like attitudes in life, on the street (just like some attitudes on here, just proves it) is a sure fire way to send people to seek sanctuary with "their own kind" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We as a country found our own, Dying of disease, we educated ourselves to treat these diseases, wars?? aren't we in Iraq now? and profit and greed, Not been to south Africa then? And another question on a serious note, in these 3 rd world countries that we sent millions to each year, why do they still have children? they are dying starving etc but they still manage to have children?? Because they are catholic, corrupt and have copper, cobalt and rare earths as resources. There is still profit to be made from peoples' misery. We waste millions each year on stolen or lost government laptops. Context? Would you like to make a valid point backed up by some evidence?
