Kaimani
When they say a British person can't join then it is about nationality surely? again, its to help people learn about British culture. any other nationality, but British, would join. again, why would you want to join if you already know? its like going back from uni to first grade just coz you can. why? Kaimani
maybe because its your right to go? it isn't. this is not a commercial company. the law is different with charities and members only groups etc.
mynameisdan
Two normal, able bodied, white, heterosexual british women and their offspring were refused entry to a foreigners only playgroup paid for by our taxes!??!? I wonder what the Daily Mail had to say about this.
mj.scuba
it's not about race or nationality, as all races are accepted and nationalities too. it more about experiences or situations. this group is to teach people about British culture and how to navigate day to day situations. why would you need to join it if you're born and bred here? Rather then why would they not want these English women to join? Who better to show them than other Mums?
Kaimani
There's a difference between not wanting to and not being allowed to..this is just for the sake of discussion.. ... of course. they were not allowed. charities are set up for all kinds of reason, and the money used for those reasons. in this case they didn't meet the criteria. you might want to apply to a homeless charity for cash. but if you have a house you get nothing. for discussion only... Kaimani
Rather then why would they not want these English women to join? Who better to show them than other Mums? first step to all that. it can be daunting simply to speak to new people. they making baby steps. that's the whole point. with language barriers etc they might feel scared.
