Indian restaurants - are we being conned?

Recommended Posts

why are they called "indian" restaurants when theyre almost all owned by pakistani's?

isnt their something in the trading standards that makes this illegal?

The majority are actually run by the Bangladeshi community.

In the years of mass migration from the Indian sub continent (Commonwealth) to Great Britain after the war and the aftermath of the expulsions from Uganda, the migrants tended to move into different areas to earn a living.

India - medical professions

Pakistan - textiles

Bangladesh - Food

So i guess the OP is just a little ignorant but as they're obviously 'new' here and have never had an alternative username we should all cut a little slack.

i could accept that but its common knowledge that most pakistanis and indians dislike/hate each other,

you'd think they'd be proud of their pakistani background and heritage,

would you open a restaurant selling you nations food and then call it something else?

Pakistani cuisine is different to indian. how is it common knowledge they dislike each other? I must have missed that memo.
