splodgeyAl
why are they called "indian" restaurants when theyre almost all owned by pakistani's? isnt their something in the trading standards that makes this illegal? I think it's more to do with the idiots who eat there, rather than the owners
clairelaw123
Do Kentucky Fried Chicken shops sell chicken from Kentucky? Does Iceland sell food from Iceland? He doesn't care if the food is from there, he needs the owners of each restaurant to be from Kentucky and Iceland too!

The majority are actually run by the Bangladeshi community. In the years of mass migration from the Indian sub continent (Commonwealth) to Great Britain after the war and the aftermath of the expulsions from Uganda, the migrants tended to move into different areas to earn a living. India - medical professions Pakistan - textiles Bangladesh - Food So i guess the OP is just a little ignorant but as they're obviously 'new' here and have never had an alternative username we should all cut a little slack. Rupert_Baehr
I thought they weren't called 'Kentucky Fried Chicken' anymore, but are now known as 'KFC'? Perhaps that's not because the 'Kentucky' part of the name was incorrect. I suppose you could call it 'Kentucky Fried C'

It's weird, you don't get boots in Boots. You don't get ice in Iceland. But every time you go into Dixons...
LordChaverly
You could argue that Pakistanis are really Indians in thrall to Arab cultural colonialism........
Flowersfade
i could accept that but its common knowledge that most pakistanis and indians dislike/hate each other, you'd think they'd be proud of their pakistani background and heritage, would you open a restaurant selling you nations food and then call it something else? Pakistani cuisine is different to indian. how is it common knowledge they dislike each other? I must have missed that memo.
