14alice
The only sure way to get rid of bad laws is to ignore / break them, popular demonstrations and peaceful protest that is widespread is the only effective way to get politicians to act. I agree entirely. Lots of laws are made only to protect the rich anyhow.
Harleyman
If a law is so wrong that it should be repealed should we obey it anyway until we can get it removed legally, or should we merely ignore it? You can always break the law if you dont mind the consequences. Good idea is to consult a very smart lawyer beforehand though
NorthernStar
It is OK to break the law if you have morals on your side or need to override said laws is justifiable, but mostly it is OK to break the law if you don't get caught.
24/7
So you are saying that some should bring their children up to accept relative poverty, to accept second best, even though the other persons kids have not earned their coats. Of course not. You should raise your children to believe that second best is not always the least best. It was you who suggested 'A cold winter' as the sentimental card as an excuse to disobey a law, not me. I don't teach my kids what's right or wrong based on the possessions of what someone else has. So you think that it is correct to shoplift the coat to keep your children warm?
