Should we always obey the law?

So you would gladly let your children go cold and have low self esteem in cheap shoddy second hand coats?

I think you'll find that any child that has been brought up decently would much rather be warm and honest in a second hand coat that make a thief of their parents to get a new one.

No. My Esteem would be high because I would seek the best for my kids through charitable means, and I have raised my children in a way they would understand that. Why are you assuming my self esteem is reliant on theft? And why is what clothing look like as important in relation to what they actually do?

My kids are freezing but to get them warm they must look the part. I think you need to look at your standards rather than suggest others have lower.

I think that our standards are indeed different in that mine are correct.:)

If a Tory MP fraudulently claims expenses and uses the proceeds to buy his children new coats, is not that a stolen coat too?

So. It is OK for some children to have very expensive new warm clothes just because their forbears left their parents lots of money, whilst others must wear their castoffs?

So

parent a) uses money to get anything they want

Parent b) gets clothes that are cheaper but still are warm

Parent c) steals to get clothes

whos the worst parent?

Yes, in that it's bought with stolen money and thus the proceeds of crime. Would you want your kids to regard you as no better than an expense fiddling MP for the sake of them having stolen new coats rather than purchased second hand ones?

They would not know where the coats come from, hence your post is not relevant!

Then that's ok. You want to be a thief because of your envy towards others, I can live with that, but as a parent I'll never be separated from my children unlike you should you follow this course, as your attitude will surely catch up with you. Prisons are quite literally full of people with this train of thought. Maybe you're doing this already and looking for solace?
