Rampent
i heard there may be a new rule coming that even if the car is on your drive not being used it has to be insured That would ruin half of Sheffield, we already have the SORN thing. Greengeek
i heard there may be a new rule coming that even if the car is on your drive not being used it has to be insured It's true. Continuous insurance. It's still to cover it against fire, theft, damage etc.
sues_budgie
Insurance is rocketing. Give it 5 years, and it will be unusual for people to be able to afford car insurance

bigcheese
Just out of interest, what made you check it had insurance in the first place?
Rupert_Baehr
It's true. Continuous insurance. It's still to cover it against fire, theft, damage etc. When I lay up my bikes for the winter I put them on a similar policy. It doesn't cost much. My son's car (which he no longer has) is on a continuous insurance policy, too. The insurance company suggested the deal to him. (They are fully aware that he doesn't actually have a car, but if he did have, it would be insured.) Each year that he doesn't have a car (but has his imaginary car insured - which costs him just under 20 quid) he gets an additional year's No-Claims Bonus, because he doesn't make any claims.:hihi: It's not a bad deal.
