Uptowngirl
Does anyone have experience of induction hobs for cooking. I'm looking for a new kitchen and it is something I'm thinking about.
Alien
Personally I like them. Stay away from the knob type though. Finger touch are much better aesthetically as well as hygienic.

Bassman62
We've had one about 6 months now, yes we had to buy some new cookware but we wouldn't go back to the other types of hobs.

NoPests
Induction is brilliant, 70% energy efficient and easy to use and clean
katrine
I have cooked on all types of hob including an aga. 4 years ago we bought an induction hob and I can honestly say that it is fantastic and far superior to anything else I have ever used. It has touch control and a timer for each ring. Yes you do have to have special pans but more and more manufacturers are making them now so availability is not a problem and they're not out of the way expensive. foxy lady
I love mine although it took a while to get used to it. The pan sides don't get hot, so its no use scrapping a knob of butter onto the rim of the pan because it will still be there 2 minutes later. Similarly omlettes are different to cook. They don't set on the sides of the pan. But once you get used to that things are great. For a messy cook the ability to just wipe things clean with a damp cloth is brilliant.
