COMMON GROUND presents Live Public Service SUNDAY 30th OCTOBER – PART 1 HEAVY (KINDRED SPIRITS) **5 piece NYC Soul Band** **Supported Jill Scott on her last US tour** **Supported N.e.r.d on last European tour** **Featured on upcoming Gilles Peterson Worldwide Live Sessions LP** **Featured on New York Soul compilation** http://www.heavymusic.net Support: ANDREYA TRIANA (RSL) (Live P.A) Chris Welch / Danny Mager (Phonetics) Time to drop some freshness !! We bring you a rare chance to see an incredible US nu-soul band here in Sheffield. The name will be familiar to those who heard the superb “Wonderlove” and “Do for you” on last year’s EP and “Unbelievable” on the New York Soul compilation. For those unfamiliar – these lot are currently haggling with the majors over the release of their debut LP. Catch them before they blow up. Heavy’s European tour takes in London, Paris, Stockholm, Berlin etc. Pharrell Williams loved them so much he booked them for a private show (bit wierd if you ask me...). Gilles Peterson loved them so much he’s got them opening his album launch in NYC. Hailing from Queens NYC, Nicky Guiland and Casey Benjamin have got a unique sound claiming influences as varied as Rotary Connection, Herbie Hancock, N.e.r.d and No Doubt… no identikit soul group bizniz – Heavy does as it says on the tin. In support we bring Andreya Triana for a live P.A. An exciting new vocal talent currently on lead vocal duties with RSL (Wesley Music).
