Forumosaurus
Well, I would suggest it's traditional like, back in the day that's what it was all about wasn't it, the guy protecting the girl, that's why they stand on specific sides, so the man could draw his sword. It's like supposed to be an honourable job, and using your example of builders, builders are talented and all the rest of it, but most jobs are hardly honourable compared to like...soldiers. Weddings used to be all about honour didn't they, back in the day the men would fight for the girl. Now we're..we're not so bothered.
johncocker
I'm not trying to divert the thread but do muslims get married in their burkhas?
johncocker
People in the forces always get married in their full military uniform you dont get construction workers walking down the aisle in a high vis vest, steel toe cap boots and a hard hat!!! .....and before anybody starts this is not a dig at "our boys" but something I have always found a bit odd. the sas always have their face blacked up when they walk down the aisle:rolleyes:
best sheff
the sas always have their face blacked up when they walk down the aisle:rolleyes: No you got that wrong, the SAS Groom just appears at the alter using stealth and a flash-bang grenade and dressed in full-black-kit. After the ceremony he disappears as fast as he came in. Unfortunately no-one know is identity, not even the bride.
