Who is the worst Tax shirker?

Recommended Posts

Have you really missed all the objections from the left to Labour over the last 10 years? the million on the streets over the Iraq war? the strikes? the protests?

You seem to live in such an insular bubble you would be better off reading the thread rather than making foolish contributions.

Just glad it's not an insular left wing bubble sunshine!

Yes. I missed those as well.

Well that puts you opinion in a perspective I suppose.

You really weren't aware of the campaign for Tax Justice? It has been running since 2003, with the support of major charities like Christian Aid.

Do you remember Make Poverty History and the hundreds of thousands of people in Edinburgh?

I suppose your ignorance only goes to show how difficult it is to get media coverage.

Depsite representing far fewer people the Tax Avoiders lobby group TaxPayer's Alliance always seems to get the column inches. Those that have a much wider and larger support base don't get the same media coverage because of right wing media bias.

Well after a Socialist government in power for thirteen years, why were the laws not changed to prevent what you see as anti-social and immoral?

Probably because people were too busy lining their pockets and besides, I don't believe there are any mainstream socialist political parties in the UK.

That is a fraction of what it is paid on.

You are just using that argument to justify shirking your responsibility to contribute to welfare for the sick and paying for the infrastructure of society.

There is nothing moral about your argument.

You can't pick and chose only the nice things that tax pays for either. There are used bullets in warzones around the world that you Wildcat paid for.

The state does not have your or my best interests at heart, and I'm not going to fund its abuses any more than I have to.

Whether on the board or not, she hasn't earned the £1.2 billion dividend.

I don't know the inner workings of the Arcadia Group but as seen as it a totally private company the execs can pretty much pay themselves be it salary or a divi what the hell they like.

But the point of your thread wasn't about what people get payed and if they have actually earned that money but people not paying the correct amount of tax you personally think they should pay.

There are probably going to be more lefties out on the street over student tuition fees than any of the issues you mention. Not to support the students but just to cause a political riot. That puts it into perspective.

My personal opinion is that all public sector workers should give up their gold plated pensions and early retirement packages. They are too much of a drain on public finances.

Maybe you should make it clear then that you want minimum state provision, when you have need of the states services.

Errm no you couldn't.

Errm, yes you can. Mutual/Friendly Societies, private heath and unemployment insurance, privately funded education.

The state is a poor custodian of taxpayers money. It does us no favours by squandering the money it should be spending on vital social services.
