GrapeApe
Why does an employed person have more need of housing than an unemployed one? Social housing should be allocated on the basis of need and not employment status. This is a ridiculous idea which could further punish people thrown out of work through no fault of their own. Its also ridiculous that unemployed people get priority at the moment, making it more attractive to be unemployed than to get a low paid job. dave_dave
Do they get priority? Yes, one of the conditions of priority is that you can't afford to rent somewhere yourself. On a low wage you could afford to rent somewhere extremely cheap privately.

In fact this is just a typical Tory policy of victimising the poor and clearing unemployed people into neighbouring boroughs.
