About time go london!

It will create areas where only unemployed people live, what will the tory council do then, build walls to hide the unemployed people away. People cannot help being made redundant especially in todays climate of cutting everything, the tories class all the unemployed people the same which is wrong. True there are people that do not want to work but there are thousands more that want to work and cannot get employment but the tories just want to penalise everyone.

It would be nice if the rules of JSA were actually enforced (as said in a previous post) then it would be easy to distinguish between the two.

I agree that people who are looking for work/have been made redundant should be entitled to a lot more than the long term doleys who see benefits as a lifestyle.

This would in a short space of time highlight people playing the system and to be quite honest isn't this what the advisors are payed to do?.

If they are an indication of the work ethics of public sector employee's im glad things are being changed as they are.

It is simple, if you are not sticking to your side of the contract...then don't expect government support, harsh as it is those who are not willing to support themselves should not be supported. Tokens and direct payments to landlords are all that should be required and anything else should be the direct responsibility of the individual.

London is a very different situation compared to the rest of the UK.

Very few people who work in central London can afford to live there - even on well above national average wages. Many have to live a significant commute from work, and still have to pay extortionate rents and travel costs. Why should people who have no real need to live in high demand London boroughs be provided with this housing in preference to those who really need it?

People already in this housing who are unfortunate enough to lose their jobs should absolutely be given a 'grace period' to find other work - but the long term unemployed have no right to expect to be allowed to live in areas where so many others desperately need the housing.
