watchcoll
I was at university over 10 years ago, and the rule was that if you had a separate lockable room with a tv in it you needed a licence. Don't think it has changed tbh. it goes on what contract the tenants in a shared house have. when i was a student we had a tv licence bloke come to check. we had one licence for the whole flat and locks on all the bedroom doors. and we had one, joint contract. if all the tenants are on a joint contract and therefore renting the whole property jointly then they're ok with one licence. if they have separate tenancies for renting a room each in a house then they each need individual licences for their rooms, and another licence for the communal lounge (so potentially 4 tv licences for a three bed house ). that's why students in halls get caught out a lot. the bloke did ask to check our tenancy agreement. i think he was rather shocked to find three students with their financial affairs in order! Mecky
So apparently Rupert Murdoch bought out all of virgins TV channels and now virgin 1 (or channel one as it was renamed) has been closed down. So as well as buying most good American TV shows, he is buying whole TV channels that we have for free, and closing them down. Better buy his Sky then, incidently Sky Atlantic is a free channel. This must be some strange usage of the word, "Free," that I was previously unaware of.

I've seen Little Britain, and now wish I hadn't... I like watching Chris Rock's standup comedy shows. But as an actor, I do not rate him at all
