vinyl
Of course China hasn't had the guts ripped out of its economy by a bunch of wreckless greedy bankers (probably the same types who like to blame our economic woes on the lowest paid workers). What does HSBC stand for?

LadOnDole
It would be interesting to know, what percentage of people in favour of scrapping the minimum wage, would be people who work for the minimum wage. I can't imagine any wage slaves who currently earn £5.93 an hour fancying the idea of a pay cut, perhaps to £2.25 an hour
vinyl
Horrible Sneaky Bonus Cheats? I see that the question was not suitable to fit in with your political affiliations. So I'll throw this out to a wider audience. Does anyone know what HSBC stands for.
Rowan22
How "whipped" have we become as a nation? If I ran my business the way the governments of this country run our fiscal policy I would be bankrupt and on charges of financial irregularity before you can say "toffs at the trough". When did we stop holding those with all the power to almost zero accountability? When did those who are totally responsible have no accountability for their actions? Why should the victims of the banking smash and grab be paying the bill on every level of society for the knee capping of the economy? We have been so thoroughly indoctrinated into thinking that we are "subjects" that we meekly accept any and all violations of the social contract as if they were inevitable. We are citizens of a supposed democratic society. Where is the universal application of culpability? I'll tell you where.....no where! When a gamblers debts are always repaid by the house why should he restrain his risk taking? He wont and the banks wont/aren’t. We are already building towards another collapse as the banking sectors has established the precedent that it is involved in a win win situation. But only for the very few who are knelt at the feet of the master doing his bidding! We are being treated like feudal serfs, where the riches are privatised and the risks socialised and we pay for their negligence and bonuses. It's shocking how many ordinary people - like sheep walking themselves into the abnatoire - espouse the lies invented for furthering the purposes of a rich elite - eg the reason our economy is knackered is because of the demands placed on it for decent living standards by poor people. Edge
You want to hope and pray that the minimum wage is never done away with. This was something that was being discussed a few weeks ago. If this government think they can gets away lowering it, they would abolish it so that the shareholders and bosses get a bigger slice of the cake. With the many cuts this coalition are hammering the british people with, it wouldnt suprise me if they hadnt given it some thought. If the Europeans will work for £3.00 an hour, why not the people that were born here.
