Recommended Posts

Sorry if this is spam, but with the amount of people constantly posting about how to get work in the US thought this could be in interest for those who are students and wanting to work the summer abroad.

This has been posted by the US Embassy and the internship will pay all costs.

Summer Institutes

The US-UK Fulbright Commission offers a variety of Summer Institutes for UK citizens to go to the US. These summer programmes are extremely varied and provide opportunities for UK students to go to the US in a unique setting, on four to five week summer programmes.

There are five Special Programmes for students, according to subject area:

* Summer Institute on Innovation and Economics (any subject, A-Level and undergraduate level)

* Summer Institute on Civic Activism (any subject, A-Level and undergraduate level)

* Summer Institute on Education in the 21st Century (undergraduate level)

* Summer Institute on Environmental Stewardship (any subject, A-Level and undergraduate level)

* American Studies Summer Institute (PhD candidates)

The Summer Institutes will cover all participant costs. This includes round-trip airfare from the UK to the US (on a US airline), tuition and fees at the host university, accommodation and meals, a small daily allowance, health and accident insurance, a small book allowance and visa processing and participation in a number of Fulbright Scholar events.

For more information about the 2010 special programme participants, why don't you check out their bios.

If you have any questions about the programme, please read our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
