Health,Eye Dangers Of Computer Overuse

Recommended Posts

last few months my eye focus on close up objects is not what it was.

i use computer for 3-4 hours per day, for last 5 years.

i watched this 2 minute clip last night linking computer/mobile phone overuse with health problems.

i certainly think there could be something in it.

Yep, your use of the 'i' is a telling sign. Rest in a dark room, and refrain from internet use. The 'I' will then return, with luck.

I'm not sure there actually is.

My eyesight is almost the same as it was when I was 21 (no kidding).

Many years ago I sat up (on many occasions) for up to 72 hour, mostly in front of a TV screen hooked up to an Spectrum writing stuff for the Speccy demo scene.

I've spent considerable time sat in front of various computer/monitor combinations for an inordinate amount of time since then.

I may just be lucky, but I still have no discernible symptoms of eye strain.

I agree that it is all hype and scare-mongoring!

I've been using computers for over 20 years too and my eyesight hasn't deteriorated anymore than it would do at my age!

And my bad eyesight was caused by working in an office with fluorescent lighting when I was 16 - long before computers were even thought about!!
