BritPat
A normal person would conclude that harmony needs to be promoted where it doesn't exist rather than stir up trouble as you constantly try and do where there are no problems. Would you want the same interfaith conflict on our streets here? Misguided I am according to your agenda as it doesn't quite fit in to the stereo type of Muslims bad and Christian good philosophy:roll: I hate extremist trouble makers full stop. Go on i'm game ! upinwath
Sounds great doesn't it, a place of peace and tranquil harmony, I'm booking my holiday there right now -- I would. Indonesia, while having a few problems with racists and xenophobes, is a wonderful place to visit. People are mostly very friendly here and love to help visitors. They welcome foreigners literally into their homes. Book a holiday here as soon as possible.
mj.scuba
**UPDATE** The three Ahmadis killed (stripped and slashed and beaten to death by a frenzied baying mob) in February during Interfaith Harmony Week finally got some justice yesterday (28/07/11) when their attackers got between 3-6 months in jail. A 17 year old who smashed one of the victims skulls with a rock, got 3 months. Justice. http://tribune.com.pk/story/219368/indonesian-court-lets-anti-ahmadi-mob-perpetrators-off-lightly/ http://tribune.com.pk/story/219867/indonesia-rejects-outrage-over-anti-ahmadi-mob-sentences/ There is a disturbing video of the attack which I won't link to but is on Youtube afaik, the mob continue to beat the already naked dead bodies, smashing them sticks and baseball bats and rocks all while chanting 'Allah Akbar' ('God is Great'). And there are police officers, stood watching.

boyfriday
It's ironic how you miss the sarcasm of first line of this thread but choose to select one part of my reply, misuderstand it and blame anybody but yourself for misreading it Well done sir it is justified that to fan the flames of anti Muslim sentiment some members on here would try and discredit Interfaith Harmoney week in Indonesia by using stats of a decade and question if Obama is on another planet without your notice? It is probably just as easy to portray Britain as worse than Indonesia in attcks on minorities by the racist host community members of which are promoting their vile agenda on a daily basis on here,...probably and yet we do see harmony on the streets of Sheffield. In fairness, one of the incidents the OP highlighted was the murder of three Muslims.

And you think this sort of thing doesn't happen in the UK? You have never heard of anyone been beaten to death in England? Teenagers do it for 'kicks'. Every country has its negative side- sometimes it's the goodness of people in general and their wanting to create a better and more tolerant society that can overcome hardships.
