Mecky
I can just imagine the Dutch government paying his salary to waste his time like this. It looks like the the Dutch government has been spending too much time doing the national hobby.

HeadingNorth
That is completely awesome, genius! And they have every chance of earning somebody a vast fortune; the problem of getting robots to walk around is one of the biggest obstacles to making them useful in all manner of areas. While ever they're only efficient on wheels, they're very restricted. Good to see that someone is investing time, effort and money into things that might solve it - and are beautiful besides, even if they don't. Womerry2
They are very beautiful indeed. I'd love a set of instructions to build the one with the wavy "sails".

Check it out, amazing tech. Watch how it rights itself when pushed or slips. Edit - I also saw one that was tiny, and did run on wheel but could accurately flip/launch itself over huge obstacles and then right itself after, but I forget the name. Also very cool. Now we've got robots that can cross all kinds of terrain - and they are only getting more sophisticated! Whoa, c'mon the problem is far from sorted. The latest walking robots are very impressive indeed. I particularly like the US army packmule one that can correct itself after being kicked quite hard. However they are a long way from being able to cross 'all kinds of terrain', surely? Let alone go with any speed and without making loads of noise.
