Disused and abandoned boozers

Nah Den - we all hate to see them hit the dust. These old cornerstones of peoples life and local traffic. But how about like post offices getting behind them either as re- owned boozers or interesting places to live, think or sell summat? Personally keen to know why Blades never picked up The Cricketers rather than putting all their ( now dissappeared )cash into the awful and hedeously designed Copthorne Hotel and at the othe end of the scale who owns The Earl Francis Park Hill ? Nah Den - all thoughts and info welcome !!

Allright Sharp87 -Cricketers now sadly closed down - big notice in the window to say they're lookin to turn it into flats or reheasal studios ( better plan) It was a gcracking litle venue too - and had some great gigs in there before it closed . I think it could still be a goldmine !!! Karl Nosek - one time punk promoter - now runs The Riverside Mowbray St - good to see some young uns keeping up the standards !

what has happened to the cricketers? not been in the area for ages.

Been in a couple of times on match days when it was open and was certainly a unique atmos :)

Is the Sportsman round the corner still open, or the Golden Lion for that matter?
