Carter, born Sheffield April-June 1952, mother's maiden name Ashton. A Janet E. Carter married an Anthony Smith in Sheffield in April-June 1970. It seems that this couple had a son, Garreth James Smith, born Oct-Dec 1978. The 2003 electoral roll lists only one couple Janet E. and Anthony Smith sharing an address in Sheffield. Also at this address are Garreth J. Smith and Kenneth Carter. Information from www.192.com suggests that they are still there, but I don't have a subscription to this site. Of course, I cannot be sure that this is the right Janet, nee Carter, but it seems likely. It seems I can't send an email to you via the Forum, so I have sent the address to you in a "Private Message" which you will be able to read..
