phil tunes
Sweet Shop ?? He sold everything..... whatever you went in for, he would find from somewhere "in the back" I remember we used to take old pop bottles back there for the deposit on them. Can't remember how much we got back on each of them though, think it was about a bob, but that seems a lot now. Any help anyone? I grew up at 54 Town End rd.... I used to always go to Mr and Mrs Woodcock's shop.... they had 2 sons Geoff and John. I cannot remember the returns on pop bottles though. phil tunes
Ronnie was indeed a Liverpool Fan. I can remember he and his dad came off a scooter on Yew Lane. I used to visit him in hospital with another close friend you might know Russ Turner. If he has passed on, then I am sorry to hear this news. I have just found this sight and I am enjoying the time here! Are you the guy looking for Dave Condon? He is also a good friend of mine..... Regards Phil Smith! Bushbaby
I went to School with John and Geoff. Nice kids but a bit quiet when sat in a class full of rowdy kids from The Cross. Always made a point of going in their shop whenever we were visiting The Willagar! Both kids looked like their Dad.
