Nagel
When I was working in Libya 10 years ago it was always said the greatest danger to Gadaffi was a civil war between the western side of the country where Tripoli is and the east led by Benghazi. It looks like this might be happening. And tonight - 'Our correspondent says Sayf Gaddafi appears to be conceding that the country has already broken into two parts, with the east out of control.' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12520586

Tony
Is it over for Gadaffi? I'm not aware of another open country where the ruling regime has held on to power after machine gunning protesting civilians in the streets, can anybody think of one? anywebsite
China killed a few with tanks, crushed the demonstrations in 1989 & the same regime is still in power now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiananmen_Square_protests_of_1989#Military_action
Tony
Was China an open country in 1989? Has the regime held on to power? I'd venture that the answer to each of those questions is "no".
anywebsite
What's an open country? Is Libya open? The communist party is still in power in China, it's still a single party state, they've held on to power pretty well so far.
