Cameron announces wholesale privatisation of public services

Recommended Posts

Writing in the Telegraph today Cameron sets out his plan to invest control of public services in the hands of the 'people'; but which 'people' does he mean ?

Sounds to me very much like the directors and shareholders of private companies rather than the end users of the services.

Don’t tell me you are surprised …………… Maggie sold off all the Nationalised industries ………… what’s left to sell? ……… oh yes the public services.

Don’t get old, don’t become infirm and make sure you have spent all your money before you need to go into a home ………. That should cover it.

Any fool could've have seen this was going to happen, even before the Tories seized power. What I don't understand is why the private sector would want to take over public services since they are not profitable and, as we all know, greed and selfishness rule under the Tories. That says to me, you will have to wait much much longer for your claim to be processed and pay much much more for an altogether poorer service.

Enough people were thick enough to vote Conservative to give them the slight lead at the election so I guess the people who did so accepted what they were going to do if they ever got in. The rest of us will just have to demonstrate, trouble will come to the UK sure enough, when the cuts kick in.

cleaning was outsourced many years ago in some NHS hospitals, and many brought it back in house once they found out that cheapest doesnt equal best. hence the recent crackdowns on cleanliness etc. anyone see the documentaries about the london hospitals employing contract cleaners, absolutely disgusting.

Not a new thing, the NHS was part privatised via the back door by Nu Labour ages ago. Many NHS branded buildings are private clinics in all but signage.

This was to generate good headlines re: waiting lists at the expense of any long term plan, or value for money.
