SnailyBoy
So do you not consider the practise of artificially inflating the price of something due to the lack of competition as profiteering then? Where's the lack of competition? Just because there isn't a branch of Asda on site that sells Malteasers at a cheaper price doesn't mean there's rampant profiteering by the cinema. vwkittie
I wouldn't take my own food because I really don't see why anyone can't go without snacks for the duration of a film. Don't often buy anything at the cinema either because of the cost. The only thing I might get sometimes is a slushy because that's something I don't get anywhere else so it seems more worth it (and they are very tasty!) giancoopa
Why dont regular cinema goers buy a cineworld card, £15 per month, minimum years subscription and you get to go as much as you want. The saving you make on tickets can then be spent on drink and food etc. Before you ask, no i dont work there but do have a cineworld card and it is good value if you regularly go. R i chy
The fountain drinks aren't that bad, but the candy at the cinema is expensive..=)
Amaranthus
Yes, horribly overpriced, I usually take my own. The only thing I'll really buy from the cinema is nachos because I like them warm.
donuticus
For those who are saying no snacks I agree. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/markkermode/2010/12/the_moviegoers_code_of_conduct.html
*Twinkle*
I think some of you miss the point here. No-one is forcing you to buy the snacks. They are offered for sale at these prices, I have yet to see anyone forced to purchase a snack before entry to the cinema. Yes, it would be convenient if the snacks available were more reasonably priced, and would possibly encourage more sales and less sneaking in of cheaper snacks. Is this something the cinema could trial for say a month? Other than grumbling about these convenient snacks with inconvenient prices, your only other options are to sneak snacks in/eat before/just watch the film like you're paying to do! julesmarie
I don't go to cinema's, because I personlly, would rather watch a film, in my own home. Its because I always forget where I am, an laugh, cry, scream loudly, then I realise and try to couver my red face. But about buying sweets, etc etc, don't they randomly search anyone, like they do at Hallam arena????? just wondered.?
