KTHFB
Out of 72 faces, you correctly identified 60. In other words, you got 83% correct. Not so bad. I think I was robbed though, I'm sure I got them all correct!
shortcrust
I came across a test to see how blind people are to recognising faces. I'm not happy with my scores and have now been looking on how to improve them. http://www.faceblind.org/facetests/fgcfmt/fgcfmt_intro.php 1) 54% 2) 62% 3) 59% 4) 68% How face blind are you? Do you sometimes have trouble finding your way around new places Digsy? Oliver Sack's new book 'The Mind's Eye' has a chapter on face blindness and he mentions that the two often go hand in hand. It's interesting how a fleeting shot of a street in Sheffield can be on TV and I know immediately that I know it even before I can work out where it is. Bit like faces! Digsy
Women should do significantly better at this sort of thing, if I recall correctly. I remember working for a computer shop on Darnall and I was saying to my boss Malik that THEY all look the same to me. I think he took it as a racist comment, so I tried to clarify by adding that it's not just people of colour it's everyone. I don't think he believed that I wasn't being racist. I says "ok so tell me truthfully, when your walking through town and your faced with a mass of white faces, with no racism intended answer honestly, don't we all look the same to you, and when you look at people that share your colour, common facial features etc you can see the individuality in each one of them, i.e they don't all look the same?". His answer was "yes", I says "well for me that applies to everyone no matter what colour the face, what features they have apart from the obvious things that stand out like beards or long hair amongst a mass of bald heads etc". And I think he then understood what I meant.
shortcrust
I remember working for a computer shop on Darnall and I was saying to my boss Malik that THEY all look the same to me. Again, in his book Oliver Sacks says that we are actually specially 'tuned in' to the types of faces we see as children. So if you're bought up with white British faces, you'll recognise then more easily that black faces.
KATIEB_23
I got 88% - I thought I would be below average I was rushing through it & hitting the numbers quite quickly though. I found myself giving them all nicknames - fatty, gay, vampire... not very PC I know, but it's what popped into my head!

medusa
I'm on 96% I think that it really depends on how much practice you get at recognising people in your daily life though. It doesn't surprise me that Babooshka got 100% or that I scored highly because those of us who do a lot of public facing work get lots of practice at telling people apart and working out who we need to remember, who asked us to do something or which person you need to take something to. I think that most people who work in restaurants, bars, or who are reps or the like would be well above average.
