medusa
Fancy a kipper tie? Quite. I'm sure you understand why I had to get rid of it.
Agent Orange
I am not ashamed of where I am from, however, I don't have a Yorkshire accent to hide. My accent seems to have morphed into something different. Not sure how or when this occurred, but people always are left wondering where I am from. medusa
No disrespect but why do all Brummies sound like they are made up with cold. No idea, I'm an honorary Yorkshire woman now, having been here for almost a quarter of a century.
Alien
are you ashamed or try to hide your accent sometimes when you talk to people that are not from yorkshire, the more you try to hide it the worse you sound.especially when you try to talk posh you just cant disguise it. Like Sean Bean you mean. He's an actor and even he can't get it right. It sounds so forced.
Grandad.Malky
This just reminded me of another regular conversation that comes about: "Are you getting cold?" "No both radiators are on" "No not Cold, COLD" "IT'S NOT COLD" "I MEAN THE VIRUS" "Oh A cold?" "Yes" "Well why didn't you say so?" As they seem to talk through their nose it must be hard when they do have a cold.
Hots on
I dont know why but I cringe when I hear any regional accents on TV. Posh voices sound better for TV.

I don't think there's any such thing as a 'posh' accent, it's just RP (I'm sure tehre was a thread about this a few months ago).
