harvey19
If only we could find out if animals beleived in God we may have the answer to the creation versus evolution argument. The beleif would be instinctive and not taught.
HeadingNorth
Most animals don't even believe in themselves. Apes and monkeys have shown self-awareness, and dogs have done a few things that suggest they might have it; apart from that, it's hard to think of any animals which have demonstrated any sign of it. Dolphins are certainly intelligent enough to be self-aware, but they've never (to my knowledge) done anything to show it, though that might be to do with being an aquatic animal. HeadingNorth
Belief is a psychological state not an instinct. That's rather the point. If we discovered that animals believe in some God or other, we'd either have to credit them with vastly more intelligence than we ever have, or we'd have to conclude that it is, in fact, an instinct. RootsBooster
I would say no, seeing as they can't read. Religious people believe in gods because they are told to by others and because it says so in a book/s
