Central heating pilot light wont stay on

Recommended Posts

If a pilot light has gone out, you should follow the instructions to relight. Once it is relit you should continue to hold the button in until the valve is opened fully, then release. It is merely a safety feature.

central heating pilot light wont stay on Does anyone have an idea why? the gas supply is fine , etc etc just the pilot light, and its not firing the system up
It may be as simple as the pilot jet being blocked or at least restricted as not to allow enough gas to stay on. Sometimes a bit of cleanong is all that's needed, but to repair legally you would need professional help as without appropriate training it would be illegal to do a DIY job on it. Not worth the risk of doing something wrong.

The pilot light usually cuts out for safety reasons meaning you need someone qualified to check out the boiler.
